Well that's how the math breaks out. Yes. The psychological difference between the Wave and the Tsunami however is a pretty big deal. Winning just 245 seats in the House and say 54 in the Senate isn't quite the repudiation of Biden/Pelosi/Schumer as I'd like to see, but is still an operable majority.
And I didn't even think to mention what the loss of the corner offices in NYS and OR, and even MI, would mean to the tsunami. Man, would it be huge to see those three go down in flames, or just any two of them (but always including NYS!).
Youve obviously put a lot of good work into these numbers, Jeff, but..... i would bet a large sum of money that even your tsunami outcome won't and can't make any real difference in the basic, DC operating system. Our system has been thoroughly and completely captured by a criminal Oligarchy at the federal level. It really is a Uniparty. Rs and Ds are the charade to make us plebes think we have a say. State and local elections may still matter, but whomever goes to dc is either pre vetted to be a willing accomplice to the Oligarchy or (for those rare, honest patriots) quickly sidelined and rendered impotent. The Fourth Branch of government (ht Sundance) is not going to allow any change that would threaten their power.
So dream your dreams of monster waves if that makes you happy. Reality will be there when you wake. It's a revolution we need, not an election.
I don't disagree we need a revolution to reverse what has happened to DC. I don't know if that's possible in my lifetime, but I think Trump was at least the warning shot. A great many people woke up as a result of his presidency. Will it inspire others? I hope so and this year's slate of candidates sure look like they're aligned with this.
But there is no question in my mind the nation is worse off - much worse off - these past two years, with Biden in the WH rubber-stamping whatever Pelosi and Schumer approved. So a GOP controlled House and Senate will be BETTER - not optimal by a long shot, but BETTER than what we have now. And the bigger that win is, the greater the repudiation and refutation of Biden/Pelosi/Schumer policies. And the more it will reinforce and inspire others to join the cause.
So I don't "dream" of a monster wave - I hope. And that's all we can do right now.
My sick optimism is that the system these crooks have cobbled together is so rickety and unsustainable that it's collapsing before our eyes.
So i don't believe the DC Gangsters are invincible. Not at all. They are extremely vulnerable, just not to elections. Elections are a source (perhaps *the* source? ) of their power because it perpetuates the illusion that we the people are anything other than serfs.
The Gangsters vulnerabilities are that which always afflicts corrupt systems: the rottenness and instability that eventually collapses and the jealousies and rivalries that end in betrayal and death.
So we need to be ready when the system collapses and hope that it won't be an apocalypse of no return. Their fantasizing about nukes isn't encouraging.
My preference is for states to reassert their 10th amendment rights and tell the feds to get lost, but not sure we have any real state leaders for that yet.
So what would a tsunami look like, 262 GOP in the House and 60 GOP in the Senate?

That would be great, especially if leaders in both chambers had spines.

Fair enough.
